1998 Governor's Award for Business Excellence 03.25.1998 Colby College, Maine "America's Best" is what was engraved on the Governor's Award Trophy that was given to Winderosa Mfg. & Dist. Co. USA, Inc. on March 25, 1998. Rachel W. Carignan accepted the award from Governor King. She thanked Franklin Savings Bank, The Maine International Trade Center, Kyes Insurance Company, Mead Paper Corporation and Governor King for helping Winderosa become the company it is today. Her acceptance speach is listed below: "Thank you Governor King. The business community of the State of Maine is fortunate to have a pro-business governor! It's an honor to be here today and I'm pleased to accept this award for myself , my partners - Lisa Windover and Jay Windover, the employees at Winderosa, and for the entire community of Western Maine. We market our products through foreign and domestic tradeshows. This year we exhibited in Indianapolis, Indiana in February; Louisville, Kentucky in July; and Minuch, Germany in September. In the last year we have expanded our marketing to the world wide web. Melody Windover, our Web Master works daily updating our website. Customers are able to access our catalogs, check listings of our distribution, and request samples of our products. The web creates a level playing field for ALL businesses! Maine MEP Board Member Receives Export Achievement Award |
"Photo Tim Byrne/Tim Byrne Photopgraphy" Lolisa Windover, CFO for Winderosa Gaskets in Peru, Maine was presented the Export Achievement Award by U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Don Evans (center). Secretary Evans was the keynote speaker at a recent luncheon hosted by the Greater Portland Chamber of Commerce. Winderosa was recognized for their recent achievements in the global marketplace. Joining them in Rod Rodriques, CEO, Maine manufacturing Extension Partnership (Maine MEP). Winderosa's, Rachel Carignan, is a member of the Maine MEP Board of Directors. |
